I mean, £340? But i know nothing about powdercoat, and would rather spend £500 on something that worked, than £300 on something that didn't!
Thank you.
Yeah, id pay money NOT to have things powdercoated. But im sick of painting the stuff i sell, and my buyers seem to think powdercoat is better than paint, so if i set up for powder, i save myself a whole load of time, and give them what they think they want.

Any chance of finding someone with a really good reputation and contract it out? I suspect that getting good results is a black art and/or the outcome of putting much time and money in to getting it right.
Your products are high end electronics/music bits arnt they? So rust and durability problems of powder shouldnt be a big problem.
What about Cerakote? Expensive but looks good, an option thats not powder coat that some may pay the extra for.
I'll be honest - I've given up trying to convince anyone that there's superior products to powder.
Powder is cheap and, I suspect, easy once you have the knowledge, and, in truth, whilst it's right down at the low end of the quality coatings scale, for the indoor stuff that I flog, it's probably fine.
Basically I figure if they want powder, then I'll give them powder.
(As an example, I do a business to business item, that someone else then retails to consumers - it's currently done in 2k but on their website they say it's powder as that's what their buyers think they want!)
I've suggested that the description is not entirely accurate, but they can't be bothered to educate people either, so the superior epoxy and 2k finish is listed for sale as inferior powder.
Totally. If they think powder is better, and it's (potentially) quicker and cheaper for me to do than 2k, I shouldn't try and correct them.
But really the point of this thread was not to discuss the pros and cons of powder, but for me to get advice on the specific machine.
I mean it's a generic clone. From what I can tell electronic goods (maybe) have a 2yr warranty under UK law, which (might be) enforceable with Amazon if it fails.
If it works, and earns money for 2 years, it will have more than paid for itself, so I guess the question, again, is -
How bad could it be?
(at applying powder)

Isn't @Matt-H into powder coating now. Perhaps you could ask him as he does not use @#£_& and researches what's good and what bad.
